San Francisco Police said they responded to a physical fight between several men on market between fourth and fifth streets at 5 09 tuesday evening. It happened in front of the timberland store and walgreens. One of them and had a nice. We know that the male suspect was brandishing a knife. As to the steps and the time frames of what occurred here, they are all under investigation. Reporter police said the man was struck by gunfire, but did not say how many officers fired their guns. They also say an officer fired a beanbag shotgun and a sheriffs deputy used a taser. Police are not saying in what order the weapons were deployed. The man was taken to San Francisco general hospital. We are reviewing cameras, eyewitness statements, as well as any Video Surveillance that caught the incident. San Francisco Police, the District Attorneys Office and the department of political ability are investigating this fully shooting. Snow is blanketing the sierra tonight. He died last night after suffering a heart attack while at work. He was only 42 years old. Due to the pandemic, the samaritan houses stepping up efforts this year to provide holiday food boxes to families in san mateo county. There were long lines today at the nonprofit drivethrough food pantry in san mateo. The event kicked off a week of Food Distribution to registered samaritan as clients. Each received a frozen turkey, or chicken, and other food items. Samaritan houses as demand has nearly tripled during the pandemic. Lines have grown especially. We are putting out three times as much food as we would have normally done before the pandemic. That is just the food. Lines for Financial Assistance to keep people housed or even longer. Throughout the week samaritan house expects more than 800 cards to pass through the food pantry. 10,000 young coho salmon have been released in the pescadero creek. Were released by noaa fisheries in the monterey bay, salmon and trout project. Release marks the first time in decades the watershed has seen significant numbers of the endangered fish. Central california coast coho salmon are critically endangered and listed as one of nine irene species at greatest risk of extinction. Its funny, as you look at the life picture, they used to do that. The salmon transplant, that would take a small group and put them in the upper sacramento and hope that they would naturally slip down into the ocean. But they would be eaten so much. Colleagues say oakland assistant fire chief sean lafon was a beloved member of the department and community. Hello again everyone, im julie haener. Im frank somerville. He suffered a deadly heart attack at work yesterday. He was only 42 years old. Ktvus as nest smith talked with his sons today and his son worked his with his dad at the oakland Fire Department for the past year. Reporter yes, he did. Cayden lafon wanted to be like his father, that is why he joined the oakland Fire Department. He is still very much in shock over his fathers unexpected death. Cayden lafon last saw his father, sean, and assistant fire chief at the oakland firehouse, monday morning. Cayden, a probationary firefighter, says his father appeared healthy. I didnt think twice. I didnt think that would be the last time i would see my dad. Two hours later, as cayden was about to respond to a medical call, a fire lieutenant flagged them down, alerting him his father was not well. A 42yearold and collapsed inside the Fire Department building at 5 00 monday evening. He later died at the hospital, after going into cardiac arrest. It was truly a shocking experience.
