Now 11, clashes between police and agitators in oakland during a second night of unrest in the bay area. Fire crews try new tactics to contain one of three massive wildfires burning in the bay area. Northbay businesses hit twice by covid closures and wildfire evacuations working to bounce back. Everybody is eager to have some sort of sense of normality. We start with breaking news as we take a live look at oakland the police have declared unlawful gathering underway in the downtown area. Oakland Police Tweeted out these videos of people in the crowd, chucking Water Bottles at police and pointing a green laser at officers. The clash is playing out in the area of mande night and grand avenues just off 580. The also reported rocks being thrown at him and protesters being shields as weapons. Police warning that violators will be arrested. It remains unclear if anyone has been and we will can do to monitor this protest. Tonights protest comes on the heels of more than one dozen demonstrator

Thats the view over the east bay. Plenty of clouds in that scene. We will put some numbers in front of the day. Its 57 in concord. 50 in oakland. 56 in san jose. You can see how widespread the marine layer is. We are all waking up to low grade clouds. Here is the airquality forecast. Even though we burned back the marine layer we get rid of that layer of clouds, the hayes sticks around and airquality is going to be unhealthy for sensitive groups today. You might notice a little bit of a warmup if you are inland today. Really settle by a couple of degrees putting us into the low 90s for the daytime highs. We will stay in the low 70s for the bay. We saw more smoke today on the peninsula, with more of a southerly wind bringing the smoke in from the santa cruz fire. So we have a lot of smoke. It has been another productive day for fire crews and now some evacuees in napa and sonoma counties are being allowed to return home. Heres where we stand on the three major fires. The scu lightning complex fire is the largest in the state. It is burning in seven counties from the diablo ranch in the east bay to the Central Valley and it has now burned 363,000 acres. Firefighters, as well. Absolutely. Because when we see higher humidity that keeps those fires from spreading so rapidly and also lighter winds are key. But we havent had much in the way of much cooler temperatures. Usually were starting out our mornings in the mid 50s. Right now its in the mid 70s as we watch the conditions around the Santa Cruz Mountains for the czu lightning complex there that has been spreading into the areas across santa cruz and san mateo counties. Heading to the south bay where were seeing the fires over the hills as we look from the south bay as well as the east bay, were seeing weather conditions there with calm wind and temperatures at 70 degrees and the relative humidity is fairly low at 27 and for the north bay, were monitoring those weather conditions starting off 70s.
