Weather is Getting Better for the firefighters, weather is getting a little nastier in terms of air quality or it will hold her friday. And maybe even beyond that. As we talked about before, these fires, theres not a lot of reason for the smoke to disperse. We are not seeing any kind of pressure changes in the atmosphere. The smoke is lingering. Early mornings is the worst, as you know, and it will get a little bit better each day. Any kind of westerly wind from the southwest and northwest will bring smoke into the fire from bolinas after the south. This is the wind i am talking about, kind of a little bit of a southwest wind looks like. So you are seeing some of these winds pretty robust, certainly onshore with a slight southwest click to it. Thats why we will see a little bit of smoke tomorrow morning from the santa cruz fires in the peninsula. The fire along the coast is helping greatly with humidity counts. We are seeing high humiditys. Really cal fire, i dont think i couldve asked for a better pattern. It in terms of air quality we could have because there will be a little bit junkie for the next few days. Airquality alert through friday. Temperatures are running slightly cooler then last night at this time. Early mornings it tends to be the worst because it is cold in the air sinks and the smoke sinks and it settles down in places like the portola valley, woodside. You know those areas where the smoke just gets in there and it is hard to get it out because it gets sheltered from the wind, which would clear it out. Tomorrows forecast, oranges or 80s. It looks like the pattern is the fog stays up the coast. The forecast for fairfield, 90 degrees, 91 in antioch, 92 in brentwood, 69 in San Francisco. A real good day tomorrow, but airquality in the morning will be less than desirable. 89 in pleasanton, 89 in livermore and winds trending near santa cruz up this way a little bit. What would i do with the smoke tomorrow morning . It will push it into these areas that havent really been seeing a lot of smoke up until now. The five day forecast, looks like more of the same with the warmest day being on friday, but none of this is big heat, this is just classic bay area summer weather pattern, except for all of that smoke. The firefighters are getting a handle on the big containment. Bigger numbers by tomorrow. You can count on that though the smoke is lingering in the morning. Mark will bring you the latest. Then on the 11 00 news, five people are missing in the wildfire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Great day on the lake it is. Lunch is cookin and i saved a bunch of money on my boat insurance with geico. Fellas, can it get any better than this . Whoa my old hairstyle grew back. So did mine. [80s music] what . I was an 80s kid. It only gets better when you switch and save with geico. Has it going, everybody . The giants going into this game with a sixgame win streak, but these were to the mediocre diamondbacks or the l. A. Angels, these are the dodgers, arguably one of the most talented rosters in all of baseball. And in San Francisco the dodgers kind of like these cardboard fans because guess what, they dont scream obscenities at them like usual giant fans do [ laughter ]. 3 zero mack mack muncy provided the dodger lead in the bottom of the first inning. The giants have to continue to play. 6 5, dodgers in the ninth inning. Again, belt with a home run and he had four hits in this one, this one ties the game off kenley jansen. It is a solo homer, 6 6. Going into the 10th inning, rough night for the rookie joey bart. Three strikeouts, the ball gets away here, he throws it away and a leftfield. Justin turner will come in to score and the dodgers lead 7 6. In the bottom of the 10th any marie seo comes in and the clutch. Justin turner, great play on it, but joey bart able to score the tying run 7 7. The dodgers in the top of the 11th inning have just pushed the cross so we will go to the bottom of the 11th inning. It looks like, you cant really see it from here [ laughter ], but i think the dodgers took the lead by 8 7. In texas they just go swinging from the hills and they struck out 10 times tonight, but they did contribute the long about a couple of times to get it done in the fourth inning. It is a 1 1 game with matt olson crushing when off hail gibson, not to be confused with bob gibson. 453 feet, a two run homer, his 10th and we have a 3 1 lead. Fifth inning, Marcus Simeon took it to right, that is his fifth. I love those two run homers and all of a sudden it is a 5 1 as lead, looking with the team we have come to know and the season. Seventhinning, not a home run here. It is load the bases, instead it is a bases clearing double from Stephen Piscotty down the left field line. Everybody is going to score and the as runaway with this thing against the rangers. Sean minaya with the victory and 21 10, looking good. Elsewhere kind of surprised it took this long to happen, the seasons first nohitter. A pretty nice play to end it. Adam ingles snares it and the white sox righthander Lucas Giolito has himself a nohitter. He struck out 13 along the way, walk only one. He got it done in 101 pitches and the white sox whitewashed the pirates in the nohitter 4 0, the first of the season. Basketball, bay area fans are probably bummed out to find out Damian Lillard will miss the rest of the playoffs. He was the only real bay area connection, but we had a good one. And as the clippers try to close out the mavericks luka doncic was the big hero. Not this time around, the clippers absolutely dominate, firstquarter Kawhi Leonard looking spry. Down broadway the hammer and he had 32 points and the clippers and a route up 22 points in the fourth quarter. Look at the mavericks, paul george, the distance. Get this, 154 111. That is a franchise for the clippers who go up in the series 3 games to two. Even little 49er news today, of course the fans there are known as the faithful. They will also have to be very patient to get to see their team in person, unlike the miami dolphins, the 49ers will not be allowing fans into the stadium, no doubt disappointing to announce that today their intention of not having fans at the season september 13th versus arizona, just common sense says coach shanahan. At the disappointing, but i also understand it. There are a lot of adjustments that everyone has to make with how the world is right now. I totally understand it, but its not going to be that fun. We love having the fans in there. They pump you up. You hear the noise on tv and in person. Hopefully it wont last. A lot of hopeful thinking going on there. We have little time, when i checked this out. Lets get back to the nba playoffs and show you what was certainly the move of the night, if not the shot. That is jamahl marker with 42 points as denver topped utah. They still trail the series three games to two. Playoff hockey, vancouvers Elias Hendrickson with a nice fake and the connects wind up taking the game 5 2 and their series is now even vegas and vancouver at one apiece. Thats the sporting life, no final word yet on the giants and dodgers. We will have that in about 25 minutes or so. Next at 11 00 it is in times like this we will look back and tell our grandchildren that through kindness and compassion, strength and determination we were able to restore the promise of our future.
