LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - Hundreds of people turned out Saturday morning to raise money to help feed hungry people in Mississippi.
More than 400 cyclists and more than 300 runners gathered in Lamar County at the Barn at Bridlewood for the inaugural, âFarm to Fork Ride or Run.â
It was a benefit for Extra Table, a non-profit organization that has provided soup kitchens and food pantries across Mississippi with healthy food for the last 12 years.

Authorities are on the scene of a drive-by shooting that left a juvenile injured in the Center Point area.
The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 18th Avenue N.W. in the Bridlewood community.
A male – believed to be 13-years-old – was wounded and transported by Center Point Fire to Children’s of Alabama.
Jefferson County sheriff’s Deputy Chief David Agee said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 13-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting in Jefferson County s Center Point area. Three other teens are charged.

Three juveniles are in custody in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured a 13-year-old boy.
The teen victim was taken by Center Point Fire to Children’s of Alabama. He underwent surgery Monday and is listed in stable condition. He is expected to be OK.

Deputy Chief David Agee on Tuesday announced charges against a 14-year-old and two 17-year-olds. The 14-year-old is being held in Jefferson County Family Court. The two older teens are being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
