Eric. A lot of people have been out here in Golden Gate Park today taking pictures, checking it out for themselves, where several statues once stood here in the middle of the park. Lots of reaction from the public. The mayor also has a lot to say. Lots of Power Washing happening in Golden Gate Park. Workers removing graffiti from pedestals that once held statues. [ [ cheers and applause ] friday night a group of several hundred people tore down the statue of Francis Scott key, who wrote the National Anthem and was a known slaveholder. The statue of Junipero Serra was also toppled. Serra established the California Missions and is accused of committing atrocities against native americans.
