Today did help firefighters make some progress. The eastern edge of the fire is moving into lake county, moving into new evacuation warnings. The new warnings include middletown, pike casino, and the surrounding area. Cal fire said this evening the fire has grown to 74,000 acres. The lighter winds have allowed firefighters to contain the fire. 123 structures have been destroyed, 57 of those are homes. Nearly 90,000 structures are still in danger. As the winds continue to change and get into that red flag warning, northeast blow, it is going to increase that fire behavior to levels we saw when this fire initially began. Here is a map now. Many people left in the dark as to when the power will be turned back on. They have not given us any idea in terms of when the power is going to come back on. We dont know whether to stick it out, try to go to a friends house. Reporter he relies on a small generator to survive the latest round of power shutoffs, without power since saturday at 6 00 in the evening, hes able to hook up his appliances, unable to take a warm shower in days.
