The CM suggested the department to prioritize works and stressed on quality and timely completion of projects to ensure best use of financial and human resources

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting to review the functioning of the Water Resources Department at Janata Bhawan on Monday. He directed the officials to take urgent steps to complete maximum ongoing schemes within this month to minimize the damage caused by flood to people and property.
According to an official statement, the CM also asked the department to identify the vulnerable points in the embankments across Assam and carry out strengthening on a war footing while completing the breach closing works at the earliest.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) at around 2:30 AM on Sunday and took stock of the COVID situation.
As the country is fighting the second wave of COVID-19, the new CM said that the state will start an odd-hour management process in government medical colleges and other hospitals.
