Rs 404 Crore Sanctioned for State Farmers: Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora

STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: Fund for Assam Farmers Under PM-Kisan Project: State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora has said that around 12.50 farmers families of the State will get the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Talking to The Sentinel on Sunday, Bora said, The Central Government has already sanctioned Rs 404-crore PM-KISAN funds for the farmers of Assam recently. The amount is being deposited directly to the bank accounts of the farmers. I thank the Centre for the sanctioning of the funds. The PM-KISAN is an initiative taken by the Government of India. Amid Curfews & Lockdowns, Centre Asks States to Keep Ration Shops Open for Longer Duration The Centre is distributing highly monthly subsidized foodgrains of 5 kg per person at Rs 1-3 per kg via ration shops to over 80 crore poor families.   |  17 May 2021 5:38 AM GMT NEW DELHI: The government of India has asked all the state governments to keep ration shops open for a longer duration and on all days to ensure the timely and safe distribution of both subsidized and free foodgrains to the poor. Further, an advisory in this regard has been issued by the Union Food Ministry following representations that during the current lockdown in some states/UTs, ration shops timings have been curtailed due to which the intended beneficiaries might not be getting adequate time to lift their entitled foodgrains.
