Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday said some of his aides and allies abandoned him after leaving office even as he described Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, as a trusted “son” whose loyalty is unparalleled.
Jonathan spoke while inaugurating the 6.25Km Sabon Kaura -Jos bypass road constructed by the Bauchi State government at the cost of N2.2 billion.
He commended Mohammed for standing by him even after he left office, saying that the invitation to inaugurate the first legacy project in the state and immortalising him through the road project is a big honour to him which he would live to remember.
Bauchi Assembly orders re-arrest of man freed after rape of seven-year-old girl

Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have lamented that a 45-year-old man, who was arrested and handed over to the police for allegedly defiling a seven-year child, was bailed by some influential persons.
The incident reportedly happened at Faggo in the Shira Local Government Area of the state.
The member representing Shira Constituency in the Assembly, Bello Shira, disclosed this during plenary on Tuesday, while speaking under matters of urgent public importance.
He informed the House that the “terrible and devastating incident” happened in Faggo, adding that immediately the culprit was released on bail; he ran away and was nowhere to be found.
