Several journalists in the convoy of the Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, were, on Thursday, involved in a fatal crash while on their way to Gombe from Bauchi.
The driver of the crashed vehicle reportedly died.
The Gombe State Governor was in Bauchi on Wednesday for the 4th North-East Governors’ Forum Meeting.
The Governor then stayed till Thursday to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the foundation laying for the renovation and upgrading of the Bauchi State Government House which was laid by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum.

A Toyota Hilux vehicle conveying some personnel of the Rapid Response Squad in the convoy of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, were involved in a lone crash.
The RRS 3 vehicle of the Bauchi State Police Command conveying about 10 of the personnel somersaulted after the driver lost control because of the dust on the road currently under construction.
The PUNCH reports that the Burga-Yelwan Duguri-Alkaleri road is an over 60-km project being constructed by the governor.
Mohammed had been on an inspection tour of projects awarded by his administration across the state since Saturday and was at the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area on his way to Alkaleri LGA on Monday when the incident happened.

Abductors of the 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State, have threatened to starve them to death if the ransom they are demanding is not paid on time.
One of the abductors stated this in an audio recording made available to one of our correspondents on Wednesday by a prominent Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi.
In the audio recording, the abductor, who spoke in Hausa, was heard conversing with a negotiator, identified by Gumi as a top official of the school.
He rejected N2.7m offered him as ransom for the 27 abductees.
