Two persons have been killed in a fatal crash that occurred on Friday in Zangoro Village along the Bauchi-Maiduguri Highway.
The fatal crash involved two vehicles, a Peugeot 406 with registration number, TRN-36SL; and a DAF Truck also with registration number, PKM-77-XA.
The Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Bauchi State Sector Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, told The PUNCH that the crash, which involved six male adults, was caused by dangerous driving.
According to him, two other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries while the remaining two escaped unhurt.
Abdullahi said that the name of the driver of the Peugeot 406 car could not be ascertained adding that the truck was driven by one Lawan Sa’idu.

Cholera outbreak in Bauchi State has killed no fewer than 20 people in the state, the state government has disclosed.
The Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, disclosed this at a press conference held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Bauchi on Tuesday.
He said that nine local government areas in the state recorded a total of 322 cases within one month adding that the case fatality rate is 6.2 per cent.
He said, “The state Ministry of Health was notified of a sporadic case of gastroenteritis in Magami Community, Burra Ward of Ningi Local Government Area by the Area Health Officer in Burra District on the 11th May 2021. This followed an increase in the number of cases above normal from the community.
