To tell you the truth, i think him if i remember right, i was standing in front of the tv and i fell down on my knees. Reporter very shaken. Ronald share what may have been one of the last conversations the officer had. That was hours before the chp officer went to work on Christmas Eve patrolling 880 south in hayward. Shortly before midnight, a man accused of being drunk and high on marijuana crashed into the chp car killing camilleri and injuring another officer identified as jonathan velasquez. Jonathan velasquez is expected to recover. Camilleri was a frequent customer and i asked ronald what would it be like going back to work. It is our understanding, from both the chp and the Alameda County sheriffs department, that his body will be taken to a local Memorial Chapel in tracy. At that point were told the family, the local church, both the officer and his wife were very active in the church. The Mission City Church west did speak with the past or there today. Arrangementes are being made by the family to lay this officer to rest. Unfortunately, the procession started just as were seeing rush hour traffic in oakland. It could take some time.
