Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood is now accepting applications for a new cohort of members to join the governor’s Parent Cabinet. Established in 2022, the Parent Cabinet is a diverse, parent-led advisory group that collaborates directly with the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. Its mission is to empower parents and caregivers of children up to the age of 5, by giving them a stronger voice in shaping laws and policies that impact young families. The Parent Cabinet welcomes all caregivers, including grandparents, foster parents, and other guardians. Members serve 2.5-year terms, with staggered expiration dates in June or December.

Connecticut authorities are investigating a cash scam where an unknown individual posed as a bondsman. The victim handed over cash after being falsely told their family member needed bond money. Later, they discovered their family member was not in police custody. They say this isn’t the first time it’s happened either, warning everyone to be vigilant of this and other scams making the rounds.
