Once upon a time, the Mercedes-Benz lineup included something called the M-Class. Born in 1997, it was the German carmaker’s first proper offering in the SUV segment for the masses (G-Wagen notwithstanding) and enjoyed such a great success that it is still on the market today. Since 1993, AMG versions have also roamed the streets, with the current G 63 model becoming one of the most sought-after luxury SUVs in the world. Apart from the glorious V8 and outstanding off-road capabilities, its gorgeous interior is a huge reason for its popularity.
The Mercedes GLE-Class, formerly the M-Class, has always been a hit among Benz buyers because it combines SUV practicality with the usual premium touch of a proper Merc. And, sometimes, the performance factor also comes in the mix, as long as there’s an Affalterbach-based influence.
