It's an interesting thing to look at the Formula 1 World Drivers' Champions list. Fangio dominated the '50s with 5 titles, Schumacher was the king of the early 2000s with 5 titles as well, Vettel clinched 4 titles at the start of the last decade, and Lewis Hamilton has been on top of the game with 6 titles in the past 7 years.

Aftermarket downpipes, modified turbos, blow-off valves and an engine re-map have squeezed out 660 PS (651 HP / 485 kW) and 832 Nm (614 lb-ft). They didn’t say anything about the new 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) sprint time, but they have removed the V-max limiter.
When Mercedes introduced the AMG GT back in 2014, some have said that it’s not a real successor to the SLS. However, it has been a successful product, which is why it will get a second generation that will be built alongside the upcoming SL.
