WELLFLEET When Town Administrator Maria Broadbent visited the Cape back in August 2019, it reminded her of spending time working for the Cape Cod National Seashore in her 20s.
She was having dinner with friends and for the first time out loud said she wanted to get a town manager job on the Outer Cape.
“It was something that had always been in the back of my head,” Broadbent said in a recent interview with the Banner.
It wasn’t too long after that that Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet all announced they were looking to hire new town managers.

PROVINCETOWN The health department has proposed a five-year mental health plan for townspeople in need, including more support groups and funding a clinician to see patients for free on a short-term basis.
The plan, presented by town Health Director Morgan Clark during the Jan. 25 Select Board meeting, aims to not only expand the mental health resources in town but through grants and other implementations help reduce the barriers that prevent individuals from using that help. The planning comes at a time when pressure with the COVID-19 threat have been building, Clark said.
“I just want to commend you for creative problem-solving here,” Select Board member Lise King said at the meeting. “This is clearly an attempt to make an intervention in a situation where some creative problem-solving is needed.”

PROVINCETOWN COVID-19 vaccines became available at Stop & Shop pharmacies in Orleans, Harwich and Hyannis for all Phase 1 groups and those 75 years or older starting Jan. 27, according to an announcement from Provincetown Health Director Morgan Clark.
Appointments are required, and often are difficult to get, based on supply. County officials say that additional vaccine doses are expected in the next few weeks.
The Phase 1 group includes healthcare workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, first responders, staff and residents of congregate facilities and home-based health workers, according to the announcement.
Those 75 and up are in the top priority group of Phase 2.
