Provincetown COVID cases take unusual jump to five, then back to four

Alex Darus PROVINCETOWN The town health department has reported a high of five active cases of coronavirus in town, according to Provincetown s COVID-19 dashboard.  As of Friday, Dec. 11, the active count of cases was five. On Saturday, Dec. 12, the active count was down to four, with 38 cases resolved, and one previous death, according to the town website. The jump in cases is relatively unusual for the town. For many weeks during the coronavirus threat, town health records reported no to very few active cases, even during the peak summer months. The five individuals who were reported infected were in isolation in town, and believed to have contracted the virus elsewhere, according to the Dec. 11 statement from town Health Director Morgan Clark. Some of them report mild symptoms.
