A community rewards initiative which will see over 70 local businesses - together with the area s schools and clubs - celebrate the many wonderful everyday deeds done and achievements won by local people, has been launched.
Supported by An Garda Síochána, the New Ross Rewards initiative was formally launched by Superintendent John McDonald on the banks of the River Barrow over the weekend.
The idea of local businessman Billy Ryan, who has coordinated the project to date; sees businesspeople and service providers utilise the rewards process to highlight achievements. New Ross native and dentist, Adrian Dillon said: Everyday, members of the public, our customers and friends, do good deeds and accomplish so much, but go unnoticed. New Ross Rewards is a vehicle to thank and gift those nominated and chosen by their peers. All the entities involved are delighted to sponsor the more than €10,000 total prize fund.
