The Shiv Sena on Monday became the latest political party to demand action against journalist Arnab Goswami over his purported WhatsApp messages that suggest he had prior knowledge of the Balakot airstrike, reported the
Hindustan Times. The party said the alleged collusion between Goswami and the central government was a breach of India’s national security.

New Delhi: Repeated reference to the PMO in the alleged chat between Arnab Goswami and ex-Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Chief Executive Partho Dasgupta has sparked a controversy. According to the alleged chats, Goswami claimed to know about important government decisions in advance and predicted that MIB Secretary will be removed .
In the said conversation, Goswami can be seen promising Dasgupta, referred to as PDG in the chats, that has has shared points with the PMO and the MIB secretary should be leaving soon .
Party says issue raises concerns over national security
The Maharashtra unit of the Congress on Saturday demanded a probe into the revelations made in the alleged WhatsApp conversations between Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and recently arrested former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) CEO Partho Dasgupta.
The transcript of the messages was a part of the supplementary chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Police in the Television Rating Points (TRP) case. “The chats, which are in public domain, are no longer limited to the scam. Mr. Goswami’s reference to the Balakot strike and that the Pathankot attack was breaking news on his channel 20 minutes in advance, makes it an issue of national security. We will be meeting State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to demand a high-level probe,” said State Congress general secretary Sachin Sawant.
