NOIDA: A satellite city will soon come up on the outskirts of Noida. In a major policy decision, the state government on Friday gifted the Noida Authority some 80 villages, which were previously under the jurisdiction of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), for further expansion.
Though the Authority has 20,316 hectares under its jurisdiction, only a limited portion of land is currently left for further expansion. Hence, more land was being scouted by the Authority officials. However with no direct connect, the 80 villages 60 in the neighbouring Bulandshahr district and 20 in Gautam Budh Nagar will have to be developed like a satellite city, Authority officials said.
