Two Toogoolawah rodeo spectators busted for crimes

Premium Content Subscriber only Toogoolawah police have busted two people at the local rodeo, one for public nuisance and the other for an alcohol infringement. During the Toogoolawah rodeo, a 25-year-old Stapylton man was issued an infringement notice for public nuisance following violent behaviour at the event. In addition, a 36-year-old man from Minden was issued a liquor infringement notice for attempting to re-enter a licenced area after an incident at the rodeo. In separate events, a 60-year-old Toogoolawah male was issued with a notice to appear after he was intercepted driving a vehicle while over the mid-range alcohol limit.

A search warrant has uncovered an established cannabis grow room in the Somerset Region. On March 4, Toogoolawah police, with the assistance of an officer from Esk, searched a Toogoolawah property and uncovered 54 cannabis plants, along with other drug property. A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested and charged with 10 offences, including production and supply of a dangerous drug. Police have seized 54 cannabis plants from an established grow house in Toogoolawah. Toogoolawah officer in charge sergeant John Cumner said information received by the public contributed to tracking down the drug offenders.

CRIME WRAP: Strangulation reported, new office joins beat

Premium Content Esk police have welcomed a new officer to the station. Officer in charge sergeant Karlene Trezie said senior constable Adrian Solah had joined the Esk station. Senior constable Solah arriveed in Esk having worked at Ipswich station as well as previous country stations. In addition to the constable’s arrival, a 22-year-old man from Leichhardt was issued a notice to appear by Toogoolawah Police after being detected driving in Cressbrook Street while Disqualified. Strangulation in DVO A 37-year-old male from Kingston was arrested by Esk and Toogoolawah police. He was charged with a strangulation in a domestic setting and an application was made for a domestic and family violence protection order.

Cars confiscated as police target Esk hoons

In a statement issued by the Esk police station, officers commended the community for their efforts in addressing hooning in the region. Local police investigations are continuing into hooning offences to ensure safety for motorists and the community. In addition, a 17-year-old Esk man was issued a notice to appear for dangerously operation a vehicle, while a 33-year-old Esk man was also issued traffic infringement notices in relation to the same matter. A Toogoolawah man has been busted by Esk police for a type one offence involving wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke. His vehicle was immobilised for 90 days.
