WOOD YOUTHFEST! Looking for something exciting to do these school holidays? Lowood State Primary School grounds will come alive on Friday, 12 April with live music, DJ, acrobatic performances, activities, workshops, information stalls, food, and fun at Lowood Youthfest! Come along to enjoy the fun, festival environment, make new friends and connect with youth related services available in our region. This community event is for young people aged 12+ in Lowood and surrounds. Parents are also welcome to attend. Gates open at 11.30am. Main stage entertainment from 12pm features Angie Whitely, Harry Phillips, Zim BoyZ, Harry Rapmund and headline artist/rapper Lisi 4300 – whose lyrics, lived experience and resilience are truly inspiring. The Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit, in partnership with the Somerset Regional Council, Department of Transport and Main Roads, SES, QAS and QFES Lowood, Emergency Services Cadets, Harvey’s Towing and Ipswich PCYC will be promoting road safety expo at the Fernvale Country Markets, on Sunday, December 3 .Join us as we provide a road safety demonstration at 9am and 11am, conducted by QFES, QAS and SES. The simulated trauma incident is narrated by QFES and QPS. There will be plenty of road safety information, and the children can have their photo taken with local emergency services. The visual display is a reminder of the consequences of dangerous driver behaviours.
