Alleged thieves attempt to torch stolen vehicle, wanted by police

Premium Content Subscriber only A stolen vehicle has been used in multiple burglaries in the South Burnett region before alleged thieves attempted to set it alight near Toogoolawah. Toogoolawah police officer in charge Sergeant John Cumner said the stolen vehicle, a dark blue Mitsubishi Triton, was dumped before an attempt was made to set it alight on Cressbrook-Caboonbah Road. Following the attempted torching, a 2019 silver Landcruiser was stolen from across the road, with the offender entering a property and taking the keys to steal the vehicle. A search warrant has uncovered an established cannabis grow room in the Somerset Region. On March 4, Toogoolawah police, with the assistance of an officer from Esk, searched a Toogoolawah property and uncovered 54 cannabis plants, along with other drug property. A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested and charged with 10 offences, including production and supply of a dangerous drug. Juveniles steal car, drive over 130km to country town

Premium Content Subscriber only A gang of juveniles as young as 13-years-old have gone on an alleged 130km joyride in a stolen vehicle from Brisbane s West End to Kilcoy. The juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 16 from Brisbane and Cherbourg, allegedly stole a car and have become allegedly tangled in a series of theft offences throughout their journey across southeast Queensland. According to Toogoolawah police officer in charge sergeant John Cumner, the vehicle used in the joyride was stolen from West End earlier that day. Multiple police officers from Lowood, Esk and Toogoolawah tracked the juveniles, who in Kilcoy, fled the stolen vehicle, police will allege.

Special forces swoop to grab alleged armed robber near Esk

Premium Content Subscriber only Pol-Air and a special emergency response team have arrested a 31-year-old man from Morayfield for multiple matters including alleged attempted robbery while armed. Toogoolawah and Esk police were involved with the arrest on January 24, after an extended police force arrested the man on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Esk. Toogoolawah OIC sergeant John Cumner said the man had been allegedly charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while under the influence of liquor, possessing weapons and intend to cause grievous bodily harm. The alleged offences came from a number of incidents in the Caboolture area.
