Tallahassee, Fla.  – The No. 16/RV Florida State swimming and diving teams will hit the road to face NR/No. 25 LSU on Saturday at 11 a.m., at the LSU Natatorium. The 16th-ranked men enter the contest 2-1 with victories over Florida Southern and Georgia Tech, while the RV women boast a 5-1 record with wins over FSC, North Florida, West Florida, Georgia Tech, and Miami. Both squads fell to No. 10/9 Georgia. “We’re looking forward to getting back into dual meets,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “LSU has a very good team. They have a couple of Olympic gold medalists on both sides, so we’ll have our hands full. We’re looking to compete hard with them and see what we can do after finishing our great training block of the season.” The meet will follow the 16-event format with teams racing in the 100’s and 200’s of each stroke in addition to the 50, 500, 1000 (1650) free, as well as the 200 IM. The meet will begin with the 200 medley relay and finish with the 400 free relay. The divers will be competing in both 1-meter and 3-meter. Live timing will be available on meet mobile. The Series LSU has been on the schedule every season since 2019-20 following a nine-year hiatus. The men hold a 19-13 advantage over the Tigers and the women trail 10-17. The Last Time Out Following the Georgia Invite (Nov. 17-19), the Seminoles entered the heavy training phase of the season. Several student-athletes competed in three meet, including the FINA Short Course World Championships that took place in Melbourne, Australia from Dec. 13-18. Carlos Vasquez, Max Wilson, and Yordan Yanchev have returned to Tallahassee after representing their countries on the biggest stage of the sport. Vasquez set a national record for Honduras, touching at 53.36 in the 100 fly. Vasquez also holds the 200 back, 50, 100, and 200 fly as well as the 400 IM in short course meters.
