The Fairfield City Council will meet in regular session at 6pm Tuesday, September 27th at City Hall. This year's Fairfield PaintOut will partner with the Wayne City Matters group to kick off in Wayne City on September 27. Artists will be in and around Wayne City throughout the day. At the completion of the paintings, their works will be displayed at the Wayne Community Center. The community is invited to come at 4-7:00 p.m. to meet the artists and view their first paintings completed this year in the PaintOut. Wednesday through Friday, the artists will be painting in Fairfield and throughout the county. A highlight on Wednesday will be a Car Cruise-In being coordinated by the Wayne County Misfits Car Club at Leo French Park at 5:00 p.m. The artists will be completing the popular Quick Paint will be held at that time. Completed paintings will be on display afterward at Fusion Coffee, in downtown Fairfield. The Hometown Pride category will again be presented. Photographs were requested from the community to be shared with the artists for the 2022 PaintOut. The artists then each selected one photo from the album created from the submitted photos. They will submit their completed paintings from the photos into the Hometown Pride category. Those paintings will be available for sale for $150 each at the Premier Art Show and Sale on Friday evening. Dr. Patrick Molt is sponsoring an award for this category. The Paint Out highlight is always the Premier Art Show and Sale, which will be on Friday, September 30, at the Floral Hall of the Wayne County Fairgrounds from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Paintings will be displayed for viewing and will be for sale by the artists. The community is invited to attend the show and sale. Admission will be $5 per person. Each person entering the show may vote for the People's Choice Award and will be eligible to win the door prize, which will be an original painting by local artist, Spencer Meagher. The Paint Out will end with judging of the works submitted Saturday, October 1, with awards announce at noon. Awards to be announced include Best of Show, 3 Awards of Excellence, People's Choice, Artists' Choice, Quick Paint, and Hometown Pride Award. The screening checks each child's progress in hearing, vision, speech, language, and coordination skills. This will give parents a better idea of how their child is progressing at this very young age before he/she begins school. This screening program is free and parents will receive immediate feedback on how their child is developing.
