Starting at 7am today, part of the Fairfield Memorial Hospital's main parking lot, to include the entrance into the main lobby of the hospital will be closed until approximately Noon. Drop offs and picks up will be at the Surgical Pavilion. This closure is due to a crane that will be moving in the new AC equipment as part of the Phase II renovations. There will be periods of time starting at 10am when they will be moving heavy duty equipment overhead and no staff or visitors will be permitted in certain areas of the main part of the hospital due to safety concerns. During these times FMH Security Staff will help guide visitors and staff. The Fairfield City Council met last night with all members present. The council approved 3 TIF Redevelopment Agreements. All Senior class students attending Wayne County Illinois high schools will have the opportunity to participate in the student class trip to Washington D.C. for the first time in four years. The last time 12th graders from Cisne, Fairfield, and Wayne City High Schools were able to take this annual trip to D.C was April, 2019, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year's trip will be extended by an extra day for the first time, allowing the students to also tour Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, the amazing home and property of America's third President near Charlottesville, VA. This new feature will be part of the return trip home, following the Seniors' experience of many of the highlights of our Nation's Capital. This upcoming student trip is scheduled for April 20th - April 24th, 2023. The Bernard and Naomi L.
