Lily McVetty ’21 Widens the View on Climate Change Adaptation
Lily McVetty is investigating how her hometown in Maine can brace for changing climates in a way that is as equitable as possible for its community members and maritime industries.

McVetty is from Rockland, a coastal town nestled between small hills and the sea. It has historically been a blue-collar fishing community, but has been slowly shifting its economic base to recreation and tourism. She and her mother moved there from California when she was six, and she spent much of her childhood swimming in clear, cool lakes and downhill skiing at the little mountain near her house. ....

CAMDEN   Students thrive on discovery. And it’s through some of those discoveries that local elementary, middle and high school students are today preparing for a future filled with possibilities and opportunities.
With support of the Stewardship Education Alliance (S.E.A.) – a year-old nonprofit with the mission of increasing community awareness of ways to be better stewards of local watersheds – students, teachers and communities are benefitting from grants for special projects, activities and professional development. The 501 (c)(3) nonprofit has been supporting public and private school educators and after-school programs in Camden and Rockport since 2020, and in January expanded its support to also include public and independent schools ....

Tim Jalbert as its new chief financial officer. A resident of Kennebunkport, Jalbert comes to The Cedars from CliftonLarsonAllen, where he served as a health care consulting manager. He is a forward thinking, technology-savvy certified public accountant who has been an innovator in software development to improve quality and revenue and enjoys using analytics to study future health care trends.
Amy Bell Segal
Amy Bell Segal has been hired by South Portland engineering firm Sebago Technics. Segal will take on the role of senior landscape architect/senior project manager, where she will manage a variety of projects on top of contributing to overall site planning and design. Segal graduated from Cornell University with a degree in landscape architecture, and she and her family are longtime Portland residents. After 28 years with Terrance J. DeWan & Associate ....
