Dorothy M. Dimond, 95, of Altoona, formerly of Lakemont, passed away Sunday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Alban and Mary (Kyle) Dimond.
Dottie is survived by her son, Robert C. “Neil” Dimond; a special nephew and niece, whom she helped raise, Charles Andrews and Kathy Meckley. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and her daughter-in-law, Timberlee Randolph.
Dottie worked while attending school at Shaffer Stores Co. on 31st Street in Altoona. She was a graduate from Hollidaysburg High School and went on to work 37 years at Treese’s Drug Store in Hollidaysburg. ....

Maria “Mary Ann” Weinzierl of Altoona passed away Saturday after a brief illness. She was born in Oberndorf, Bavaria, to Karolina and Max Sonnleitner.
She came to America at 20 years old and met her beloved husband, Alfons Weinzierl, who preceded her in death this past November. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, on May 28, 1960, and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Harrison of Jamison and Mary Ann (Scott) Perriello of Collegeville; five grandchildren: Kelly (Jason) Charney, Carolyne, Jim, Ryan and Abigail Maria Perriello; a great-grandchild, Jack Charney; a brother, Max Sonnleitner; and her dear cousin, Mary Jane Huber, who was like a sister to her. ....

James M. Hughes Jr., 93, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.
The son of James and Jean (Roy) Hughes, he married Eve Christodoulos on June 12, 1949, in Altoona.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years in 2010; and his daughter, Happiness Singler, in 2019.
He is survived by three daughters: Holly (Jim) Means of Westerville, Ohio, Hope (Dave) Furrer of Baltimore, Md., Heather (Jim) Little of Altoona; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Jim joined the Marine Corps right out of high school in 1945 and served with the 1st Separate Engineer Battalion in Tientsin and Tang Ku, China. He graduated from Penn State University in 1951 with a degree in electrical engineering. Jim was first employed by Westinghouse Electric in Baltimore, Md. He joined the engineering faculty of PSU Altoona, teaching electrical engineering in 1955, where he retired in 1986. He served as the electrical engineering consultant for DM Bare (Apple ....

Joseph Edward “Ed” Wilson, 96, of Trenton, Ohio, formerly of Altoona, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with his beloved wife, Alice, on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. He was born in Barnesboro, son of the late Thomas and Leona (Lowmaster) Wilson.
He married Alice (Thomas) Wilson on June 11, 1949, at the Second EUB Church in Altoona.
Surviving is a son, Thomas Edward (Karen) of Beavercreek, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia Louise (Danny) Kuykendoll of Trenton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Alice; and a brother, William Robert Wilson. ....

Urban Stephen Antos, 86, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday evening at Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Barnesboro, son of the late Urban Sr. and Anna (Marchak) Antos.
On April 4, 1961, he married Kirsten Wasli in Washington, D.C., and she preceded him in death Nov. 2, 1985.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen Rexford and Lisa Wheeler, both of Washington, D.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne.
Urban was a graduate of Barnesboro High School and received an associate degree from York Community College.
He retired as a cartographer from the Defense Department in Washington, D.C., in 1986. ....
