May 2, 1935 â March 13, 2021 Mar 17, 2021 Maria “Mary Ann” Weinzierl of Altoona passed away Saturday after a brief illness. She was born in Oberndorf, Bavaria, to Karolina and Max Sonnleitner. She came to America at 20 years old and met her beloved husband, Alfons Weinzierl, who preceded her in death this past November. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, on May 28, 1960, and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Harrison of Jamison and Mary Ann (Scott) Perriello of Collegeville; five grandchildren: Kelly (Jason) Charney, Carolyne, Jim, Ryan and Abigail Maria Perriello; a great-grandchild, Jack Charney; a brother, Max Sonnleitner; and her dear cousin, Mary Jane Huber, who was like a sister to her. ....
