GUJRANWALA: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Monday said that she needed surgery abroad but would not request the government to take her name off the Exit Control List (ECL).
Speaking to the media, she criticised the prime minister for issuing tickets to millionaires and billionaires. People from every province in Pakistan have stood up to the ruling party, she said, referring to protests by PTI leaders in Sindh and Balochistan over the award of Senate tickets. He (Imran Khan) used to say that he had struggled for 22 years. Has he not found anyone in the PTI to award Senate tickets in all these 22 years, she questioned. The prime minister criticises other parties but has himself awarded tickets to millionaires and billionaires, she said and added that former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani was a unanimous candidate of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which was trying to send prominent leaders to the Upper House. ....

GUJRAT/LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz has said her party expresses sympathy with the PTI old guard who, despite having been steadfast with Prime Minister Imran Khan for 22 years, could not get party tickets for the Senate elections because these loyal workers can neither afford the expenditure of Mr Khan’s 300-kanal Banigala palace nor arrange a plane ride for him.
Addressing a rally organised by the PML-N for party’s candidate Talat Manzoor Cheema for the by-election in PP-51 Wazirabad on Monday evening, she said Imran Khan had given the Senate tickets to billionaires by ignoring the party loyalists because the MPAs belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf were slipping away from the hands of the prime minister. ....

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that the “selectors” of the incumbent government were being humiliated the most today.
She was addressing a rally in Wazirabad. She said everyone in the country including farmers, daily-wagers, shop owners, traders and government employees were suffering.
“People are asking them (selectors) ‘was this the only gift they found out of 220 million?’,” Maryam said. “I want to tell the selectors that [you] made a mistake, [we] forgave but do not ever repeat it.” ....

Rangers, police to maintain peace in by-polls

For the upcoming by-polls in Punjab’s two constituencies, the Election Commission of Pakistan has sought the help of Rangers and police personnel to fortify the security arrangements. On February 19, by-polls will be held in NA-75 Daska (Sialkot) and PP-51 Wazirabad district (Gujranwala).
In this regard, the Election Commission of Punjab has also confirmed that Rangers and police personnel will be deployed at all the polling stations, barring those declared sensitive.
In PP-51 Wazirabad, a total of 22 candidates have submitted their nomination papers to the returning officer for the by-election. At least, six candidates are contesting from the PML-N. ....

WAZIRABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal has said that after wining by-election of Wazirabad there will be no need of long march.
According to details, by-election will be held in Waziarbad on 19 February after the death of PML-N MPA Shaukat Manzoor Cheema. PML-N has issued its ticket to the wife of late Shaukat Manzoor Cheema. PTI has issued ticket to Chaudhry Yusuf while Jamaat-e-Islami has issued ticket to Nasir. ....
