Karachi February 5, 2021 As the fear of horse-trading looms large in the forthcoming Senate elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sindh leadership has started to form a strategy to stop its lawmakers from changing sides and selling their votes in the polls for the upper house of Parliament. According to PTI sources, the party’s central leadership is worried about possible horse-trading in the Senate elections. PTI leaders told The News that their top leadership believes that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the ruling party in Sindh, has allegedly been planning to win maximum seats of the Senate from Sindh after purchasing the votes of members of the opposition parties, particularly the PTI. ....

The Umerkot elections, which PPP candidate Syed Ameer Ali Shah won by defeating former Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who was contesting on Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) ticket, dominated the proceedings. The seat fell vacant after the death of Ali Mardan Shah. The session started with Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani presiding. The newly-elected MPA took oath amid Jeay Bhutto slogans. ‘Tabdeeli Express’ chugging towards Sindh, say PTI leaders Karachi January 25, 2021 The ‘Tabdeeli Express’ of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is now chugging towards Sindh with full speed and will result oust the ‘corrupt’ chief minister of the province from power. This was stated by PTI Central Vice President Haleem Adil Shaikh on Sunday as he addressed a press conference in Gulshan-e-Umair Society. He said CM Murad Ali Shah should answer why he had turned the megacity of Karachi into a Katchra Kundi (garbage dump). Reacting to the letter sent by the CM to Prime Minister Imran Khan against federal minister Ali Zaidi after a spat in a meeting of the Karachi Coordination Committee, Shaikh alleged that “the Sindh government, particularly CM Shah, have even no shame to embezzle the funds of Zakat and money of pensioners.” ....

Peshawar January 15, 2021 HARIPUR: District Police Officer Kashif Zulfiqar has said that police and CTD authorities were making efforts for the arrest of eight co-accused in the murder of PTI provincial deputy general secretary Malik Tahir Iqbal. Speaking at a news conference here on Thursday, the District Police Officer said the CTD and police have arrested two hired assassins Sher Zaman alias Sher Ghazi and Rehmat Ullah, who confessed that they had murdered Tahir Iqbal and his friend Sardar Gul Nawaz with the help of four other hired assassins on September 13, 2020. The arrested people, through a statement in the court of judicial magistrate Abbottabad, confessed that they had assassinated Tahir Iqbal and his friend as an MPA from PK-42 Faisal Zaman had hired their services against the payment of Rs2 millions. ....
