PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated an inquiry against Member Provincial Assembly Faisal Zaman for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.
Sources said the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had sent a letter to the deputy commissioner Haripur to provide details of the properties owned or sold by MPA Faisal Zaman and his family members. The district administration, they said, had been asked to provide the details of properties of the MPA to the NAB office by January 19.
Faisal Zaman was elected MPA from Haripur as an independent candidate. He has been winning elections from his Ghazi constituency in Haripur district. He also defeated former chief minister Pir Sabir Shah. His family is rich and is often called “Jahazan Wala” as it owned ships. ....

HARIPUR: District Police Officer Kashif Zulfiqar has said that police and CTD authorities were making efforts for the arrest of eight co-accused in the murder of PTI provincial deputy general secretary Malik Tahir Iqbal.
Speaking at a news conference here on Thursday, the District Police Officer said the CTD and police have arrested two hired assassins Sher Zaman alias Sher Ghazi and Rehmat Ullah, who confessed that they had murdered Tahir Iqbal and his friend Sardar Gul Nawaz with the help of four other hired assassins on September 13, 2020.
The arrested people, through a statement in the court of judicial magistrate Abbottabad, confessed that they had assassinated Tahir Iqbal and his friend as an MPA from PK-42 Faisal Zaman had hired their services against the payment of Rs2 millions. ....

ABBOTTABAD: The anti-terrorism court here on Monday sent Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Faisal Zaman to prison after cancellation of his bail in the murder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Malik Tahir Iqbal who was killed in Haripur district a few months back.

ABBOTTABAD: The anti-terrorism court here on Monday sent Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Faisal Zaman to prison after cancellation of his bail in the murder case of PTI activist Malik Tahir Iqbal who was killed in Haripur district a few months back.
The accused MPA Faisal Zaman, who was present in the anti-terrorism court, was arrested on the spot by CTD police. Unidentified gunmen had shot dead PTI leader Tahir Iqbal and his driver Sardar Gul Nawaz on September 14, 2020 in Kotera village of Ghazi tehsil in Haripur.
The accused had fled the scene, leaving their motorbikes. The police seized the motorbikes of the accused and started an investigation. The CTD police had interrogated various persons through call data. They later arrested suspects from Battagram who revealed that Faisal Zaman had asked them to kill the PTI leader by paying him Rs1.4million. ....

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent Member Provincial Assembly Faisal Zaman behind bars after cancellation of his bail in the assassination case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Tahirul Iqbal at Ghazi in Haripur district on Monday.
The accused was taken into the custody of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and transferred to a police station.
Unidentified people had killed Iqbal and his driver Sardar Gul Nawaz on September 14, 2020 in Kotera village of Ghazi tehsil. Iqbal, 52, was on his way back home in Ghazi tehsil in his car after offering Fateha on the death of a friend in Kothra village at around 9pm when unknown attackers ambushed him. ....
