Firefighters respond to townhome fire in Thousand Oaks

Firefighters responded to a fire at a four-unit townhome building on Wednesday afternoon in Thousand Oaks.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to a call of a fire in the 2600 block of Paloma Circle on Wednesday at 12:19 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find one unit well involved and the fire spreading to a common attic, which potentially impacted all four units of the two-story structure, according to county fire. A second alarm was requested.

Re: Nicholas Oatway’s Feb. 19 Op-Ed, “Open hearts to make Chaparral property ‘alive’”:
I found Mr. Oatway s Op-Ed calling for open hearts to make Chaparral property alive to be inspiring and visionary. The Ojai Unified School District trustees should give serious consideration to Mr. Oatway s proposal, as I stated in an email to Shelley Griffen, trustee of my district.
I encourage other residents interested in the redevelopment of the Chaparral property to make similar requests. Local architect Oatway s vision seems much more compatible with the “Ojai way” than the site plan proposed by an outside firm. ....
