Wilson, Ph.D. Re: Nicholas Oatway’s Feb. 19 Op-Ed, “Open hearts to make Chaparral property ‘alive’”: I found Mr. Oatway s Op-Ed calling for open hearts to make Chaparral property alive to be inspiring and visionary. The Ojai Unified School District trustees should give serious consideration to Mr. Oatway s proposal, as I stated in an email to Shelley Griffen, trustee of my district. I encourage other residents interested in the redevelopment of the Chaparral property to make similar requests. Local architect Oatway s vision seems much more compatible with the “Ojai way” than the site plan proposed by an outside firm. ....
Wilma Areta Coke Centenarian Wilma Areta Coke is being remembered in a memorial service today, March 13, which started at 10:30 a.m. outside the Ojai United Methodist Church (120 Church Road), and there wil be a Zoom memorial for her at the same time. She was born Feb. 5, 1921, and passed peacefully at home in Ojai just 16 days after her surprise parade. ....
