Catholic Society response The meeting began with open question time where USU President Irene Ma responded to a question regarding the Catholic Society’s Life Week activities and their ableist poll on Eastern Avenue. Student media received a statement from the USU following the meeting. The Clubs & Societies (C&S) team was first alerted to the event on the afternoon of Monday April 26. It was determined that the event had not been organised or approved by the USU or C&S. “USU staff questioned the use of club collateral and branding across the event, explaining that it looked very much like it was in fact a Catholic Society event,” said Andrew Mills in a statement. ....
