rd and Nick Macke tied the game at 37 and Carroll was off and running. Feldman scored again on a back door cut and Carroll led 39-37. The Tigers outscored the Warriors 24-8 in the 3
rd and turned the halftime deficit into a 56-45 lead heading to the 4

The Kuemper Knights were able to go toe to toe with the 19-1 OABCIG Falcons in the Substate 1 quarter final match, but fell short in the fourth quarter on Thursday night. The hometown Falcons would start off the contest with a huge 25 point performance, thanks to Cooper DeJean, who scored 11 points in the first quarter. The Knights would see some early success from the three point line, sinking three from behind the arc and scoring 14 points in the first quarter. The second quarter is where the Knights started to come alive and get back in this contest. The Knights were able to be brought to the free throw line a total of four times making seven of their eight free throws. Mayhall would be fouled as time expired by DeJean and would make the two free throws to end the second quarter and cut down the Falcon’s 10 point lead to six at 38-32.
Ogden used a 16-2 spurt in the 3
rd quarter to go up 6 and slowly worked the lead to 15 in the 4
th as they top a Wolves team that fought hard all night. Ogden shot lights out in the 1
st quarter, building leads of 13-2 and 19-7 with 5-3’s in the 1
st quarter. IKM-Manning went man-to-man in the 2
nd quarter and took Ogden out of their rhythm on offense. The wolves took advantage of that, getting 3’s from Connor Keller, Kyler Rasmussen and Drew Doyel. IKM-Manning spurt started late in the 1

The Carroll Tigers were able to add another win to their impressive season with a strong showing against the Carlisle Wildcats. The Tigers would start off the battle of the big cats with a closer than expected first quarter with the Tigers taking a 19-13 lead. The six point Carroll lead would turn into 16 by halftime at 38-22. Kaleb Booth would lead the Tigers with nine first half points.
The points would continue to come and the defense would get stronger for the Tigers in the second half. They would keep the Wildcats to seven third quarter points while they packed on 17 points in the third. The Tigers would have a closer fourth quarter as their bench players would get some playing time. The Tigers would still come out on top in the fourth quarter going 19-16 and winning this contest 74-45.
Boys and Girls Club to honor 2021 Youth of the Year

At 4 p.m. on Friday, seven brave young leaders will be taking the virtual stage at the Santa Monica Boys & Girls Club’s 2021 Youth of the Year award ceremony.
While only one winner will be selected, all candidates have traveled a long road from shy young children who first entered the center to confident and articulate public speakers and leaders.
“It’s an enormous undertaking, and I’m very proud of all our members for being brave enough to recognize how far they’ve come and being willing to put themselves out there and expose their stories and their lives to strangers,” said Logan Fricke, SMBGC teen coordinator.
