Scoring 100 points at a state track and field meet is a monster showing for any school. The Los Alamos High School girls went full-blown Godzilla on the rest of Class 4A on Friday.
As part of a Hilltopper boys/girls team sweep, it was the girls who had the University of New Mexico track complex buzzing, as they piled up a staggering 183½ points. That was more than 100 points ahead of runner-up Artesia (76.2). Remarkably, Los Alamos’ total was higher than the second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place teams combined.
