Philadelphia man killed in Cumberland County crash Updated Dec 23, 2020; A Philadelphia man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Cumberland County over the weekend. Stanley King, 60, was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on Laurel Lane in Deerfield Township on Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. when his car ran off the road, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele. The vehicle struck several trees before coming to a stop. King was pronounced dead at the scene, Peele said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL LISBON A Dec. 21 preliminary hearing was set for Codey A. Mobley, 26, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, charged with burglary, a second-degree felony, and domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. Mobley is additionally scheduled for arraignment today on a second-degree felony charge of escape and two counts of resisting arrest. He is currently being held in the jail on $100,000 cash or surety bond and was ordered to have no contact with Sarah Berdine or to go to Independence Square in Wellsville. Austin A. Angeli, 33, Jefferson Avenue, Salem, was found competent to stand trial and waived his right to a preliminary hearing for a first-degree felony burglary charge and a misdemeanor assault charge. Angeli was previously ordered to have no contact with anyone from a Vine Avenue, Salem, address.

Building and area checks made around town throughout the day. Friday, Dec. 11 10:49 p.m.: Disturbance reported on Western Avenue. Area checked. 9:36 p.m.: Rescue Squad responded to Winthrop Street on a call for medical aid for a person having difficulty breathing. The person refused ambulance transport to a hospital. Traffic stops were conducted for various infractions on Western Avenue at 8:24 a.m., Southern Avenue and DeSoto Road at 11:02 a.m., Main Street at 1:35 p.m., and Eastern Avenue at Gloucester line at 2:24 p.m. All drivers received verbal warnings. Citizens assisted on Martin Street at 7:32 and 9:48 a.m., and 12:15 and 3:15 p.m.
