Health chief's urgent warning for visitors to Herefordshire

HEREFORDSHIRE S health chief has issued an urgent warning to anyone who has travelled from a high-risk Tier 4 area or Wales in the last few days to act as if they have coronavirus and isolate for 10 days.
There is a new variant of the Covid-19 virus which has spread very quickly across London and the south east. This strain is more easily spread and therefore has the potential to put more people at risk and place more pressure on NHS services.
Acting Director of Public Health for Herefordshire, Dr Rebecca Howell-Jones, said: “We don’t know whether this strain has reached Herefordshire but a lot of people have been on the move to different parts of the country in recent days and they could be carrying the virus. ....

Warning as Herefordshire enters coronavirus Tier 1 today

HEREFORDSHIRE was today issued with a warning as it moves into the most lenient tier of the Government s coronavirus regulations.
People are being asked, despite the temptations of Christmas, to follow Covid-19 guidance to help keep the county s infection rate low.
Tier 1, which Herefordshire enters today, puts people on medium alert and is the lowest of the three tiers of regulations.
The Isles of Scilly, Isle of Wight and Cornwall are the only other parts of England in Tier 1.

More than two-thirds of England’s population will be living under Tier 3 restrictions from Saturday amid rising concern about the spread of coronavirus in the run-up to Christmas.
