The property, located at 600 E. Franklin St. in Monterey, will be used as a shelter for women and families experiencing homelessness. “The property is ideal. It’s in the shelter overlay zone, it’s got plenty of water and it’s close to other amenities,” said Robert Rapp, CHS’s Development Director. The building will undergo an estimated $1-$1.5 million renovation in order to house 30-35 beds.
