Image Source: IANS News Mysuru, May 3 : Hours after coming under fire from Karnataka Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Monday clarified through a statement that there was no delay from Mysuru in the supply of oxygen to neighbouring Chamarajnagar. The developments took place after 24 Covid patients reportedly died due to interruption in oxygen supply at the Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Chamarajanagar district in the wee hours on Monday. Venting his ire against the Mysuru district administration, Suresh Kumar had said earlier in the day that it cannot adopt the big brother attitude when it comes to supply of oxygen or other life-saving drugs to the other districts.

Patient relatives allege mismanagement; CM calls for emergency meeting tomorrow Chamarajanagar: Over 24 COVID-19 patients died in Chamarajanagar and according to the District Administration as many as 12 patients died due to lack of oxygen as the hospital ran short of supply of the critical gas and other patients died due to various co-morbidities. The deaths occurred at COVID-19 Health Centre in the District where the patients were being treated.  The District Administration has also said that only a proper death audit would reveal whether the patients died due to oxygen shortage or due to other reasons. Following the deaths, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has asked Chamarajanagar District Minister Suresh Kumar and Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar to rush to the District and take stock of the situation.

RT-PCR negative report not mandatory: DC clarifies April 9, 2021 Bengaluru / Mysuru: Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has withdrawn an order issued here yesterday regarding certain measures to check the spread of COVID-19 in City and District, including making RT-PCR negative report mandatory to visit tourist places, cinema halls, recreation clubs and other places for a period of ten days, starting from April 10. In a press release from the Deputy Commissioner this morning, the DC has clarified that there is no need to carry RT-PCR negative report to enter Mysuru or to enter cinema halls, convention centres, tourist spots or recreation clubs.
