Despite testing negative, woman gives birth to Covid positive babygirl
26-year-old Covid19 negative mother gives birth to a Covid positive girl. Hospitals authorities have stated that the mother and the newborn are doing fine and are admitted to SSL Hospital, Varanasi.

New Delhi: On May 25, Supriya Prajapati, a 26-year-old pregnant woman gave birth to a COVID19 positive baby girl. She is a resident of the Cantt area in Varanasi. Earlier, before the delivery, the mother had tested negative. The mother and baby were admitted to the SSL Hospital in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
The doctors at the SSL Hospital had run the Covid tests on the pregnant woman before she delivered the baby and the test results were negative. However, the newborn girl has tested positive right after her birth.
Utta Pradesh CM has told officials to keep a close eye on the situation in Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur considering the rapid rise in the districts.
LUCKNOW: Alarmed over the constant rise in Covid-19 cases, chief minister Yogi Adityanath directed health officials to undertake additional surveillance measures in districts with more than 100 active cases. As per the official bulletin on Covid-19, 40 districts in the state fall in this category.
Meanwhile, 3,999 new cases in the past 24 hours took state’s total to 6,34,033 on Monday. Of the total cases, 6,02,319 have recovered while 8,894, including 13 in the past 24, hours have died.

Investigations are on in both the cases
Kanpur: In another shocking incident from UP s Kanpur, a 13-year-old girl after being allegedly gang-raped lost her father in a road accident. The family of the girl alleged that the accused has conspired for the road accident.
The gangrape took place on Monday, however, the family alleges that since they registered the FIR, the accused were threatening and forcing them to take the case back.
SSP (Kanpur) Preetinder Singh said that they are investigating both cases. Prima facie it is suspected that there is no link in both the cases but the cases is being investigated from all angles, said Singh.
