Despite testing negative, woman gives birth to Covid positive babygirl
26-year-old Covid19 negative mother gives birth to a Covid positive girl. Hospitals authorities have stated that the mother and the newborn are doing fine and are admitted to SSL Hospital, Varanasi.

New Delhi: On May 25, Supriya Prajapati, a 26-year-old pregnant woman gave birth to a COVID19 positive baby girl. She is a resident of the Cantt area in Varanasi. Earlier, before the delivery, the mother had tested negative. The mother and baby were admitted to the SSL Hospital in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
The doctors at the SSL Hospital had run the Covid tests on the pregnant woman before she delivered the baby and the test results were negative. However, the newborn girl has tested positive right after her birth.
Uttar Pradesh's COVID-19 tally today rose to 16,44,851 with 7,336 fresh cases, the lowest single-day rise since April 30, while 282 more fatalities pushed the number of deaths to 18,354, an official said.
