The Duluth Police Department has identified the man arrested after a standoff Thursday as 31-year-old Jesse Lee Fechner.
Police arrested Fechner after a standoff in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood that lasted more than seven hours.
Police say Fechner was wanted on several warrants and has pending criminal cases for charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, felony domestic assault by strangulation, and misdemeanor domestic assault. He has not been convicted in those cases.
The incident began at about 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, when Fechner, wanted on significant charges barricaded himself inside the home on the 2200 block of West Nanticoke Street. Police tried to arrest him, but he ran into the house, where he remained for nearly eight hours.

A standoff in Duluth s Piedmont Heights neighborhood is over after lasting nearly eight hours Thursday.
The suspect, a 31-year-old Duluth man with multiple felony warrants, was removed from his home by law enforcement on scene.
According to police, the incident began at about 1:00 p.m. when a person wanted on significant charges barricaded himself inside his home on the 2200 block of West Nanticoke Street. Police tried to arrest him, but he ran into his house, where he remained for nearly eight hours.

During this time, portions of Nanticoke Street and West 26th Street were closed and the public was asked to stay away.

Dozens of licensed establishments in Pennsylvania have been cited in December for violating the state’s COVID-19 mitigation orders.
According to the latest monthly reports from the Pa. State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, citations have handed out to several establishments in central Pennsylvania including Funck’s Restaurant in Palmyra, Anastacia’s Restaurant & Bar in Harrisburg, Harirai Krup LLC in Shippensburg and Bottoms Up Bar & Grill in Hanover.
While other restaurants are closing, Terri James and her fiance Kevin Abel decided to open a new takeout only seafood restaurant in Luzerne County. They just opened Oceans Juice and Seafood Bar on South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre and plan to open a juice bar later.
