Freedom day wasn’t quite the ‘disaster day’ some had forecast, but it didn’t feel particularly liberating, did it? With Covid cases continuing to rise and some of the double-jabbed among them, it is little wonder that people remain anxious about returning to the office (or heading to the shops).

It is fair to say Landsec may have overstated the extent of the return to the office in its recent report, but while employees may be filtering back to the workplace more slowly than hoped or expected, it has done nothing to dampen investor appetite for the workplaces they have yet to fully return to.
How confident are you in the sector rebuilding post-Covid?
Very, as we have already seen customers flock back to their favourite spots and places getting booked out. The current staff shortage provides a new issue for operators to overcome, but it is great to see demand has returned.
What was the first restaurant or bar you visited after lockdown?

What three restaurant or bar concepts should we watch out for this year?
I am most excited about
The Seafood Bar opening on Dean Street in Soho. They are a wonderful, organically grown restaurant group from a family of fishmongers from the Netherlands, so I am very excited to taste the food. Their sites have a great vibe and my best friend got engaged in one of their restaurants in Amsterdam, so it holds a special place in my heart.
