14% of Medieval britons died suffering with cancer, study finds

As many as one in seven Medieval Britons had cancer at the time of their death, a new study reveals.  It was previously thought less than one per cent of people living on the British Isles between the 6th and 16th centuries suffered with the disease.  A combination of longer lives, pollution, cigarettes and DNA-damaging viruses means that half of all people alive today will get cancer at some point in their life.  Scroll down for video   As many as one in seven Medieval Britons had cancer at the time of their death, a new study reveals  A Cambridge University study used x-rays and CT scans for the first time to study the remains of 143 skeletons found at six cemeteries.
