Mace mess, housing and public safety top City Council’s priorities list

Fixing the Mace mess, creating a sanctioned camping site for the homeless and shoring up the city’s Housing Trust Fund are among the priorities the City Council on Tuesday directed staff to focus on over the next six months.
Those items are in addition to the city’s efforts to reimagine public safety by moving some duties out of the Davis Police Department as well as working with the county to create a Crisis Now model to respond to individuals in the midst of mental health or other crises. Two council subcommittees have been focused specifically on those efforts for several months and will continue to do so, city staff said.
A list of child care centers and schools that El Paso County Public Health and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment have identified with having outbreaks of coronavirus.

Pioneer, CA – A teacher and students looked out their classroom window at Pioneer Elementary School last week in Amador County and saw a frightening sight – a man carrying a shotgun behind the school.
The call came into sheriff’s dispatch just before 10 a.m. last Thursday from a school official reporting that the armed suspect was walking along the fence line of the campus, located in Pioneer. At the same time, the school went into lockdown.
A perimeter was set up around the school and deputies spread out combing the area for the suspect. Using the description provided by the witnesses, a records search was made that offered up a possible suspect, a nearby neighbor.
