JOE STATES Lee Newspapers TOWN OF PARIS â Plans to expand a battery storage system for a proposed solar energy farm along Highway KR in Kenosha County are pending before state regulators, and the public has until Friday to submit comments on the project. In May, officials with Paris Solar Energy Center LLC asked the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to reopen its 2020 decision authorizing the solar power farm so that approved plans for the battery storage system could be more than doubled. The solar energy farm is to be located on a large section of land about 1.5 miles west of I-94, bordering Highway KR on the north, Highway 45 on the west and partly adjacent to Highway 142 (Burlington Road) on the south. ....
Willie “Billie” Windsor Wester Dickson, 89, of the Inwood Community near Grand Ridge, departed from this world to her eternal home in Heaven in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 23, 2021. She passed away at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida, where she received excellent medical services and loving care. Born to William Washington Wester and Pencie Audry Windsor Wester on October 30, 1931, she was the last surviving and oldest of four children born to that union. Billie was born at home and grew up in Inwood, a small community that was settled and named by her father. Billie was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Jeanne W. Pelt and Rebekah W. Harrell; her brother, Doyle A. “Jack” Wester (wife Nell); three half-sisters, Nettye Chancey, Annette Bevis, and Elee Glisson; and one half-brother, Emmett Wester. Also predeceasing her were two nephews, Maurice (Maury) Harrell and Gregory Harrell; and one great-nephew, Luke Pelt. ....
WINFIELD â The town of Winfield could soon see a major residential development underway â if the subdivision is approved following a June public hearing. During a Thursday meeting, the Winfield Plan Commission heard plans for Aylesworth Farms, a 515-unit Lennar Homes of Indiana development that includes single-family and cottage homes at 5807 E. 109th Ave. The single-family homes will range from 1,800 to 2,800 square feet and the cottage homes will range from 1,500 to 2,500 square feet, said Todd Kleven, land planning and entitlement manager with Lennar. Lennar and the town began discussing the development in October, Kleven said, and since then the subdivision has undergone substantial changes. ....
