Alton man charged with Class X meth possession

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man was charged with a Class X felony for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. The case was among a number of drug- and alcohol-related felony filings April 9 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Robert E. Hodges, 47, of Alton, was charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on April 9 Hodges allegedly was found to be in possession of between 15-100 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Dorsey man faces weapons charges

EDWARDSVILLE A Dorsey man faces several felony weapons charges after an April 8 incident in Granite City.
Randy L. Sheppard, 41, of Dorsey, was charged with possession of a firearm with revoked firearm owners ID card, a Class 3 felony, and aggravated unlawful use of weapons and criminal damage to property over $500, both Class 4 felonies.
The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.
According to court documents, on April 8 Sheppard allegedly was found to be in possession of a Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun while having a revoked Firearm Owners Identification Card, and was carrying it loaded, uncased and easily accessible in a motor vehicle without a concealed carry permit. He is also accused of causing more than $500 damage to another person’s 2000 Toyota 4runner by breaking out the windows and ramming the back of the vehicle.
Godfrey man charged with sex assault of child

EDWARDSVILLE – A Godfrey man faces multiple charges of sex assault and sex abuse involving a child for more than four-year period.
Scott A. Hendricks, 51, was charged April 1 with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, both enhanced Class X felonies, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all Class 2 felonies.
The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, between December 2016 and February 2021 Hendricks allegedly committed several acts of sexual assault and/or abuse against a now 12-year-old girl.
Two indicted for Collinsville gunfight

EDWARDSVILLE Two men from Springfield, Illinois, have been indicted by a Madison County grand jury related to a gunfight in late August in several Collinsville parking lots.
Jessie R. Bates Jr., 33, and Marlin R. Thompson Jr., 27, were indicted on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony. Bates was also indicted for unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 2 felony.
The case was originally presented by the Collinsville Police Department.
According to court documents and information from the Collinsville Police Department, on Aug. 29 the two allegedly traded gunfire in the parking lots of the Waffle House restaurant and St. Louis Break Co. near Collinsville Crossing and N. Bluff Road.
Highland man charged with Class X meth felony

EDWARDSVILLE A Highland man was charged with a methamphetamine-related Class X felony on Wednesday, one of several drug-related charges filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Tyler S. Basye, 36, of Highland, was charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony.
The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.
According to court documents, on March 31 Basye allegedly was found to be in possession of between 15-100 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.
Bail was set at $100,000.
