A Natural View to continue on exhibit through Sunday, April 25

A Natural View, a juried 57-piece public art exhibit that focuses on wildlife or natural landscapes, will be available for public viewing through Sunday, April 25.
The exhibit is a cooperative effort between the Gaston County Art Guild, Bliss Gallery (25 N. Main St., Belmont), and the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden (6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont.)
Works are available for purchase at both locations.
Bliss Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. each day. The Botanical Garden is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. ....

Craig Harris to present America's Musical Roots

Craig Harris, music maker and historian, educator, storyteller, and radio host, will present America’s Musical Roots, for the Cushing Public Library, on Wednesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m., via Zoom.

This program traces America’s roots music from old-time ballads and fiddle tunes of the Appalachian Mountains and the bluegrass of Bill Monroe to the genre-bending sounds of new grass and Americana.
Harris has taught and written about music for more than four decades, and will share his enthusiasm and knowledge in this Zoom presentation as part of the Cushing Public Library’s program series. ....
